"The SLC agreed to pay 25 per cent from its net income as opposed to earlier 25 per cent off its gross income. The SLC took the position that 25 per cent off its gross income was too much to ask," Ken de Alwis of the Players' Association told PTI.

The association claimed that the players had not received any pay raise during the last four years. The contracts to be signed today would prescribe a pay rise during next year.

"They will be signing contracts today before they leave for Hambantota," de Alwis said.

Sri Lanka and India will play the first ODI on Saturday at Hambantota's Mahinda Rajapaksa stadium.
