Slight drop in minimum temperature

The national capital today experienced slight relief in the midst of a severe heat wave with the minimum temperature dropping below 25 degrees.

The day temperature was recorded at 40.8 degree Celsius which was normal for this part of the year but slightly up from yesterday's 40.4 deg C, according to MeT officials.

It was the minimum temperature which registered a significant plunge settling at 24.8 degree Celsius which was three notches down from normal. The minimum temperature yesterday remained at 27.8 degree Celsius.

Humidity remained between 19 and 66 per cent.

Weather department has predicted mainly clear sky for tomorrow which is expected to become partly cloudy towards evening. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 39 deg C and 26 deg C.
