Slow Loris released in the wild by Arunachal forest dept

Forest officials of the Pasighat Forest Division in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh has released a Slow Loris into the wild which was rescued by member of an NGO.

The endangered species of the primate was released yesterday after it was rescued by a member of the Daying Ering Wildlife Foundation Eco-Development Society (DEWFEDS) from PI Line area at Pasighat on Friday last, DFO Tabang Jamoh said today.

The animal, locally called 'Besung Raye' in Adi, was released in the Pasighat Reserve Forest in presence of NGO members and the Range Forest Officer (RFO) Osar Gao.

Earlier, four such animals were released in the reserve forest, Gao added.
