The new proposals included starch and liquid glucose manufacturing unit to be set up by Green Valley Corn Kraft India Private Limited and two expansion proposals of Havells India Limited and Ambuja Cements Limited.

Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, who presided over a meeting, directed the authorities to ensure that a close scrutiny of the investment proposals is carried out before presenting the same for approval before the Authority.

He said efforts needed to be made to motivate new investors to set up their units away from exiting industrial areas which were congested and ensure all basic infrastructural facilities would be provided to the entrepreneurs moving into interior areas for establishing their units.

He said land and water which are scarce, were the two most essential requirements for any manufacturing company and local authorities must ensure there was no over exploitation of these natural resources. PTI PCL PAL
