Smaller Cap World Fund picks Rs 42.72 cr stake in MCX

Smaller Cap World Fund has picked up four lakh shares in Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) for Rs 42.72 crore through an open market transaction.

The shares were bought from Barca Global Master Fund LP.

According to the bulk deals data available with NSE, Smaller Cap World Fund picked up four lakh shares or 0.78 per cent in the commodity bourse.

The shares were bought at an average price of Rs 1,068 apiece translating the transaction to Rs 42.72 crore.

Meanwhile, the scrips of MCX today closed at Rs 860 apiece on NSE, after dropping 3.37 per cent.

The commodity exchange reported 6 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 31.03 crore for the quarter ended September 30, on account of rise in income.
 

The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 29.37 crore in the year-ago period.
