A smart yoga mat can now act as a personal trainer and guide your stance and posture by using sensors to track shifts in body movement.
Developed by a Munich-based company Lunar Europe, the mat dubbed Tera is embedded with sensors and a constellation of LED lights.
The sensors track pressure and shifts in body movement and the data is used to cue patterns in the lights, designed to guide stance and posture.
More From This Section
The circular shape of the mat is designed to accommodate the natural radius of human motion, making transitions between poses and keeping up the flow of the practice easier.
Tera's programming extends to a range of activities beyond yoga, such as Thai Bo, Pilates, or Zumba.
Tera can accommodate yoga meant for weight control, or just for strengthening back muscles.
