A small fire broke out in the integrated cargo complex of the domestic terminal at the N S C Bose International airport today evening.

An airport official said the smoke, which was seen inside the complex at around 7.20 pm, triggered panic but fizzled out in another five minute's time.

A fire tender rushed to the terminal building at around 7.45 pm but did not have to intervene.

The smoke, which came off a Goods X ray machine, was believed to have been caused by a sudden short circuit.

The developments did not cause any disruption in flight movement or inconvenienced the air passengers, the official said.
