A flash of fire and smoke were noticed on the roof of an AC 2-tier bogie of the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express following which it was detained at New Cooch Behar railway station for over 90 minutes today.
As soon as the train entered New Cooch Behar station at 11.30 AM, 52 panic-stricken passengers got down from the compartment quickly, two fire tenders from Cooch Behar Fire Station were rushed to the spot which doused the flames.
The train left for New Delhi at 1.08 pm after a thorough checking of the airconditioning system, railway sources said.

The NF Railway official said the incident probably occurred due to a brake jam.
