In order to overcome the shortage of blood for patients, the Sawai Man Singh government hospital administration here has decided to organise a blood camp everyday.
The hospital aims to collect at least 35,000 units of blood in a year to meet requirement by conducting a blood camp everyday and 305 events have already been scheduled, SMS hospital superintendent Virendra Singh said today.
"Patients had been facing problem due to shortage of blood, so we decided to encourage voluntarily blood donation and increase number of blood camps," he told reporters.

"A meeting was held on February 6 with people who in the past conducted camps and it was decided to fix a calendar of blood donation which was uneven so far," he said adding "with this, we target to conduct at least 365 camps in a year."
Singh informed that the hospital collected 17,000 units of blood last year with such camps against the total requirement of 50,000 units.
