A smuggler was arrested and contraband heroin worth Rs 28 lakh in the international market was seized from his possession by Shastra Seema Suraksha Bal personnel in Thakurganj area of Bihar's Kisanganj district today.
Acting on a tip-off, the 19th battalion of SSB nabbed the smuggler near Thakurganj chowk when he was waiting for somebody to deliver the consignment, Deputy Commandant of SSB Navin Kumar Sah said.
He was located with the help of a sniffer dog, he said, adding he has been handed over to Thakurganj police station.
During interrogation, he told his name as Mohammad Sabir and belonged to Kisanganj, police said.
