Smuggler held with fake currency notes

An alleged smuggler was arrested today with fake currency notes having face value of Rs 2 lakh in Bihar's West Champaran district, a police officer said.

The police intercepted Shamshad Alam when he was riding on a bike and recovered the fake currency notes in the denomination of Rs 1000, Superintendent of Police (SP) Saurabh Kumar Sah said.

A native of a village under Manjholia police station area, Alam was working for smuggler duo Farar Bhutto and Afsar and had brought the fake currency from Nepal to deliver to a client in New Delhi, the SP said.
