A team of the Gujarat forest department rescued a venomous Common Krait from the Gujarat High Court building, one of the two volunteers involved in the rescue operation said here today.

"Today, we rescued a venomous snake known as Common Krait from a public washroom in front of Justice K M Thakkar's court room in the high court building," Hardik Patel, one of the two volunteers of the forest department, told PTI.

"Having received the information about a snake seen in court premises, we rushed to the building and started a rescue operation," he said.

The snake which was caught has been handed over to the forest department, Patel said, adding that the Common Krait is more venomous than the King Cobra.

The incident occurred just before court proceedings today, he said.
