Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan, who is warming up to the BJP, today sharpened his attacks on CPI(M) stating that the Marxist party was using nonagenarian V S Achutanandan as 'Shikhandi' (of Mahabharata) to attack him.

"Senior CPI(M) leader and Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan is using Achutanandan as 'Shikhandi' (a character from the epic Mahabharata who was used as shield by Arjuna to kill Bhishma) to hit out at the community," he said, speaking at a SNDP meeting at Adimali in Idukki district today.

"CPI(M) will do anything to come to power. VS, who was atloggerheads with the state leadership of the Marxist party, is now being used as a tool by CPI(M) to attack SNDP'," Natesan

said.

Achuthanandan had two days ago accused Natesan of takingcrores as bribes for appointments at colleges managed by the SNDP-run SN Trust.

Natesan alleged that VS had criticised the Vizhinjam project several times, but after the Adani group CEO met him, he seems to have gone silent on the issue.

Natesan also took a jibe at KPCC president V M Sudheeran, saying he was someone whom even his party leaders like chief minister Oommen Chandy and home minister Ramesh Chennithala would like to keep at a distance.

Meanwhile, Forest Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said SNDP's plans to float a third front with BJP support will not bear fruit as such an experiment had failed earlier in the state.
