Rapper Snoop Dogg's big birthday celebration over the weekend was stopped by police after they received complaints from neighbours.

The so-called Snoop Lion 420 Festival was set to be held at a mansion in the Hollywood Hills. It was supposed to include musical performances, and the rapper was set to host it but cops pulled the plug on it before he even arrived, reported TMZ.

Neighbours at the area allegedly complained about noise and parking issues caused by the guests at the party. It turned out organisers reportedly failed to secure a permit for the festival.

No arrest or citation was made due to the debacle.
