Rapper Snoop Dogg sparked controversy after he was seen in a picture posing with a blacked-up Asian fan.

Dogg, 42, has been criticised of racism after he posted the picture on social media site, reported Daily Star.

The 'California Girls' singer, in a lighter vein, wrote that the man in the picture man was his "stunt double" and added a comment on the picture that used a racial term.

Apparently the joke did not go down well with his fans who hit back at the singer.

"I don't give a damn what people say, this is racist and not funny. Not a good look Snoop Dogg," a fan posted on Twitter.

"This is black face and it's racist!," wrote another fan.

He earlier caused controversy by allegedly smoking weed at a hotel on the Gold Coast, Australia.
