Social activist Chandradath passes away

Social activist C R Chandradath died at a private hospital here today, his family said.

Chandradath (75) was undergoing treatment for some ailment.

He is survived by wife and two children.

Known as Dathu Mash, Chandradath was director of Thrissur-based Centre of Science and Technology for Rural Development (COSTFORD), an institute, founded by late Chief Minister C Achutha Menon to provide technological assistance to people in alternative building technology.

His body would be brought to COSTFORD office for the public to pay homage.

Later body would be handed over to the Government Medical College, Thrissur, his brother T R Ajayan said.

Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh condoled the death of Chandradath.
