Social worker Namdeo Tukaram passes away

Senior social worker and spiritual leader Namdeo Tukaram Kotkar died today of old age, his family said.

He was 85.

Kotkar was the founder of Shree Kshetre Dharampuri Trust at Nimbalak village here, his son Dattatrya said.

He had donated his all his farm land to establish a temple trust of Shree Ram and Gajanan Maharaj at Nimbalak. This place is famously known as Shree Kshetra Dharampuri. The Trust is supporting various NGOs including Snehalaya, Anamprem to arrange marriages of orphaned as well as handicapped girls and boys since last two decades.

Kotkar is survived by two sons, daughter, grandsons and daughters.
 

About 4,000 devotees and people from various spiritual and social fields were present at the his last rites here.
