Socialist leader Ram Sevak Hazari dies

Hazari 75 was JD(U) MLA from Kalyanpur in Samastipur district. He breathed his last at the Apollo hospital in Delhi.

He is survived by two sons and four daughters.

Hazari was a close associate of veteran socialist leader and former Bihar chief minister Karpoori Thakur. He was elected to the state assembly six times and also served as MP from Rosera (reserved) in 1977.

His son, Maheshwar Hazari is at present JD(U) MP from Samastipur while another son Sashi Bhushan Hazari is MLA from the same party from Kusheswarsthan in Darbhanga. His daughter-in-law is Manju Hazari is JD(U) MLA from Rosera constituency in Samastipur.

 

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar condoled the death of Hazari and announced that the departed leader would be given a state funeral.

In his condolence message, the CM said Hazari was a great socialist leader and his death was a great setback to the socialist movement.
