Tamil Nadu Forest Minister M S M Anandan today handed over Rs one lakh each to two officials in Forest department, who sustained injuries in bear attack and admitted in two hospitals here.
Anandan visited private KMCH, where the forester, Stanley was admitted and handed over Rs one lakh cheque from the Chief Minister's relief fund.
He also visited Karnamurthy, a forest watcher, in Government Hospital and handed over the money and assured both the officials to all medical assistance from the Government side, till they were discharged, official sources said.
Both were injured while attempting to trap the bear, which had killed two persons and injured another in Thottamokkai near Kothagiri in Nilgiris district.
