Soldier's body laid to rest

The body of a 30-year-old

soldier, who was killed in a road accident while performing duty in Assam, was today cremated at his native villagehere today.

The pyre was lit by the nine-year-old son of the deceased soldier Bade Lal Yadav, in presence of his grandfather Rama Shankar Yadav.

Born in Misarauli village in Badagaon area of the district, Yadav was recruited in the Army in 2007 and posted at Rangiya, Gauhati in Assam Regiment.

He was crushed to death by a vehicle death on January 3, while returning from duty.

The dead body was taken to the village of deceased by Army cops from Faizabad.
 

The funeral was attended by local politicians and government officials among others as several people assembled to pay their last respect to the soldier.
