Solid waste management site to come up in Jammu

The Jammu Development Authority will take up development of a solid waste management site in the outskirts of the city, along with several other projects approved for the state's winter capital.

The solid waste management site will come up in Kot Bhalwal area on the outskirts of the city, a JDA spokesperson said, adding the authority will also take up residential projects to provide housing facility to the people.

Urban Development Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora today inspected sites for the proposed projects along with JDA and municipal officials.

JDA is planning to construct 272 two-bedroom sets in Muthi area, that will include 176 two-bedroom sets for people from economically weaker sections of the society, he said.
 

A vegetable market, bus stand and a shopping mall are also among the new projects to be taken up by the authority.
