Some people may try to exploit situation in UP: Akhilesh

Promising to take strict action against those responsible for fresh violence in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today cautioned that some people will try to exploit the situation to their advantage ahead of elections.

Yadav, who was here to distribute free laptops to students, said that no person would be allowed to disturb law and order in the state and those responsible for the fresh violence would not be spared.

"Nobody is above the law. Stern action would be taken against guilty," the Chief Minister said.

"As elections are near, there are several forces which may attempt to exploit the situation to their advantage," he said.
 

He said that state police chief, Director General of Police Devraj Nagar has been sent to take stock of the situation in Muzaffarnagar.

Three persons were killed last night as communal violence erupted afresh in Budhana area of Muzaffarnagar district which was hit by riots last month leaving over 60 dead.
