Uttar Pradesh Minister Shivpal Yadav today said that some MLAs and leaders of Samajwadi Party from eastern parts of the state were involved in "dalali" (brokering), instead of concentrating on the welfare of the people.

"Some MLAs and leaders are engaged in 'dalali' and are taking money in the name of providing services," the state PWD minister said after inaugurating a new tehsil at Ghiror and laying foundation stone of its building.

Such reports were being taken seriously and in case of any complaints of corruption, both persons involved, one who gave and the other who took bribe would be jailed, Yadav said while asking people not to bribe anyone.

Asking the agitating 'Shiksha Mitras' not to get disturbed, Yadav assured the government would soon frame a new law to protect their interests after examining the High Court order.

To a question on Prime Minister Narendra Modi having spoken in favour of the state government assuring the Shiksha Mitras to resolve their sufferings, Yadav said that if the state government does good work then certainly it would be appreciated.

However Modi's statement was "bajigari" and the people of the state understand it very well, he said.

When asked whether SP contesting on all seats in Bihar Assembly polls would help BJP to come to power in the state, Yadav said that his party had and would continue to oppose the saffron party.

Stating that he has information that some party leaders were involved in groupism and engaged in getting illegal works done by big leaders, the minister said, "It will not be tolerated."

Yadav said that he has information that some police stations in this district have been converted into "centre of brokering" and warned that such activities would not be tolerated and stern action would be taken against personnels found involved.

The SP government has done tremendous people oriented development works to help raise their economic standard across the state, he said.
