Son of head constable shot dead

A son of a head constable was shot dead by a group of assailants in Solan town, triggering protests by locals, police said today.

The assailants, who were in a car bearing a Haryana registration number, fired three shots at Lucky who was riding a motorcycle.

He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Solan Deputy Commissioner, Rakesh Kanwar said the culprits have been tracked.

The incident triggered protest in the town and a mob gathered at the hospital where the victim was rushed to.

Additional District Magistrates (ADM), Sandeep Negi said a doctor on duty had sought police protection for the staff in view of the protests.
 

A case has been registered.
