Son shoots his father over property dispute in Jind

A 75-year-old man was allegedly killed by his younger son in a case of property dispute in Jhanjhkurd village of the district, police said today.

The incident happened last night when Jaswant was shot in his head by his younger son, Baljit, when he was sleeping in a room while his family members on the roof of the house, they said.

Hearing the sound of gunshot, Jaswant's grandson came down and saw Baljeet running out from the house, a police official said, adding that the septuagenarian was rushed to a local hospital from where he was referred to PGI Rohtak, where he was declared brought dead.
 

A case has been registered against Baljeet, and hunt is on, he said.

Baljeet allegedly shot his father following a property dispute, police said.
