Sonia congratulates Indian Kabaddi team for winning world cup

Congress president Sonia Gandhi today congratulated the Indian team for winning the Kabaddi World Cup for a third straight time by beating Iran at the final.

Describing the performance as "stellar", Gandhi in a statement said, Indian team, with this victory, has upheld India's rightful place as the birth place of Kabaddi.

With heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and hardwork, she also wished great success to all players.

In a brilliant second half performance, India staged a memorable comeback to beat Iran 38-29 to win the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup in Ahmedabad.

India beat a resolute Iran side to become the world champions a third straight time, maintaining their dominance in the sport.
