Sonia congratulates Karna CM over phone for poll success

Congress President Sonia Gandhi today congratulated Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his team for winning the Lok Sabha bypolls for Bangalore Rural and Mandya seats.

"Your efforts have yielded results. I congratulate you and your team. Take the state forward with your good work," Gandhi told Siddaramaiah over phone, according to Chief Minister's office statement.

Siddaramaiah thanked Gandhi for the confidence reposed in him and assured a strong, stable and people-friendly government for Karnataka under his leadership.

Meanwhile, Union Petroleum Minister Veerappan Moily said the win will herald a big game changer for the next Lok Sabha elections, not only in Karnataka but also India.
 

This has also signalled a message that UPA will bounce back to power again in 2014 Lok Sabha polls, he said and attributed the poll success to Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Former Union Minister S M Krishna said with this resounding success, people had reiterated their faith in the state government for the good work done in last three months.
