Congress President Sonia Gandhi today congratulated Sania Mirza for achieving World No 1 ranking in women's doubles and applauded her commitment and determination.
In her message, Gandhi said Mirza has made the entire nation proud.
Sania yesterday created history by becoming the first woman tennis player from India to achieve the World No 1 ranking in WTA list post her title triumph at the WTA Family Circle Cup with Switzerland's Martina Hingis.
