Sonia Gandhi, Rahul condole demise of Vinod Khanna

Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party Vice President Rahul today condoled the demise of Bollywood star and Gurdaspur MP Vinod Khanna, whom they remembered as a "gifted and talented actor".

"Vinodji had a rare and profound influence over the masses with his simple and charismatic character," she said, adding the actor dominated the silver screen with his outstanding persona.

Gandhi expressed solidarity with Khanna's family.

Rahul also said that Khanna was an icon for an entire generation of cinema buffs.

"A talented actor and an icon for an entire generation of cinema lovers, Mr Vinod Khanna's passing is indeed a sad loss. Condolences to his family," he said on Twitter.
 

AICC incharge of communications department Randeep Surjewala tweeted, "My personal favourite, Vinod Khanna ji was a remarkable actor and heart-throb of India. May his soul rest in Peace. Condolences to his family."

The veteran actor and BJP MP died of cancer at a Mumbai hospital today.

Khanna was four-time MP from Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab.
