BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi today alleged that Congress president Sonia Gandhi writing to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over suspension of UP IAS officer Durga Nagpal was 'politically motivated'.

"The justification for writing the letter is that she is upset because public anger against the Congress is increasing. So it is more politically motivated than on principle," Lekhi told reporters here.

"If Mrs Gandhi was so bothered about the suspension of Durga Nagpal, then she should also look into the matter of the IAS officer (Ashok Khemka), who was transferred 44 times for digging out the land deals of Robert Vadra," Lekhi said.

The Centre on Thursday assured that justice would be done to suspended to Nagpal, who had clamped down on the mining mafia in Gautam Budh Nagar area of Uttar Pradesh.
