Congress chief Sonia Gandhi today visited Union Minister Shashi Tharoor whose wife Sunanda Pushkar was found dead at a luxury hotel in South Delhi last night.

Gandhi spent around six-seven minutes at Tharoor's Lodhi Estate residence.

Other prominent political leaders who visited Tharoor included Defence Minister A K Antony, Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi and former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Congress leaders Ambika Soni, Ahmed Patel, Mukul Wasnik, Rajiv Shukla and Ashwani Kumar were also among the leaders who went to Tharoor's residence.

52-year-old Sunanda was found dead in a 5-star hotel in South Delhi last night in mysterious circumstances.

Sunanda and Tharoor were at the centre of a raging row when reports emerged that she was upset over reported text and tweet messages between her husband and Mehr Tarar, a Pakistani journalist.
