Congress president Sonia Gandhi is likely to address her party MPs at the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting here on Friday.

This is the first meeting of the CPP during the ongoing Winter session. The meeting assumes significance as it is being held in the wake of opposition offensive against the government's move to demonetise high vaule denomination currency notes.

The Congress, along with other opposition parties, has attacked the demonetisation move and has been demanding presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in both Houses of Parliament to discuss the issue.

Congress has alleged that note ban has hit the common man hard and is seeking to raise the concerns of the people, in Parliament.
