Sonia, Rahul greet countrymen on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi

Congress president Sonia Gandhi today greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi and wished for brotherhood and compassion among all.

Gandhi said the message of brotherhood and compassion is the guiding light for humanity and "may we all re-dedicate ourselves to such values".

She also wished a joyous time and a peaceful year for fellow countrymen and the Indian diaspora overseas.

The party's vice president Rahul Gandhi also greeted people on the occasion.

"On the auspicious occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, may we be guided by the spirit of compassion, peace & tolerance. My best wishes to everyone," he said.

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi is the birthday of Prophet Mohammad and one of the holiest days for Muslims.
