Sonowal attends community mass marriage in Lakhimpur

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today said that the young generation should take the lead in expediting the growth trajectory of the state.

Speaking at a community mass marriage at Tyag Kshetra here, the chief minister said that this community mass marriage was a step towards collective efforts for the betterment of the state.

The initiative would send across a positive message to the people of the state, he said.

Wishing the married couples, Sonowal said that the state government would always extend assistance to such initiatives.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, who also attended the mass wedding, said that the social mores and customs of Uttarakhand and Assam have many things in common.
 

He appealed to the young couples to lead a life for setting an example in society and tread the journey of life to be a source of inspiration to others.

In the mass wedding organised by Hindu Tea Tribe Cultural Protection Council and Sewa Bharati Purbanchal, Sewaon, 995 couples entered their conjugal life.
