Sonowal visits Basistha Police Station

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today made a surprise visit to Basistha police station here.

He spent time with the police constables and on duty home guards and exchanged views on issues related to the police station.

Sonowal urged the police personnel to work with more dedication for the service of the people of the area even as he hailed the dedication displayed by the police personnel.

Stressing on making police stations more people friendly, Sonowal who also holds the Home portfolio, took a look at case registers and other records of the police station and said that the government is taking several steps for making the police stations smart and modern.
 

He also informed that his government would also fill up the vacancies and increase the number of police constables in different police stations.

Sonowal asked the officers and other personnel of Basistha police station to keep a close vigil on the areas coming under their purview and prepare a crime graph and develop a strategy to negotiate with crimes of different sorts.
