At Lalpani under Boganadi police station of Lakhimpur district, one Nabajit Gogoi (20) hacked to death his father Chandreswar Gogoi (50) early this morning for regularly harassing the family in an inebriated state, police said.
Nabajit later surrendered himself at the Lalpani police station.
In another similar incident, a son killed his father Tepuram Mohali with a rod after a dispute in the labour lines of Rajori tea estate in Jorhat district last night, the sources said.
The son, Tepuram Mohali, was absconding and search was on to nab him, they added.
