State Bank of India is expecting restoration of banking services soon at 10-15 branches in flood-ravaged Kashmir even as majority of it's offices and cash dispensing machines were still submerged in water.
"We expect 10-15 branches to restart in Kashmir in next 2-3 days as the situation is gradually improving in some parts of the Valley," a senior SBI official said here today.
"But the situation in Srinagar has still not improved as area still remains marooned and therefore, no branch is functioning there," he said.

"Cash in some of the ATMs which got submerged in the flooded water might have been destroyed. But it (cash figure) is yet to be ascertained," he said.
SBI, which has 66 branches in the Valley spread across 10 districts, generates total business of more than Rs 3,000 crores in Kashmir.
