Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today expressed "dissatisfaction" over the five per cent hike in iron ore royalty, describing it a piece of "cumin in the mouth of camel" even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Jharkhand would be benefit by Rs 400 crore every year.
"The five per cent increase in the royalty by the Centre is not enough. It is akin to cumin in the mouth of a camel," Soren said in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Soren also pitched to review the mineral policy.
Later speaking after inaugurating a slew of developmental projects here, Modi said the decision to enhance royalty on iron ore would benefit Jharkhand by Rs 400 crore every year.
