The chief of the world's largest communications agency WPP Martin Sorrell today said he is more bullish about India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government than before.

Sorrell, who met Modi during the latter's recent visit to the US, also said that India would be the clear number one among BRIC nations.

"In the case of India, I am more bullish now than I was last year or year so... In my mind, Modi has a very strong and powerful vision, and I think he is in a very strong position because at the moment one doesn't see any alternative," the chief executive officer of WPP said.

According to him, Modi has a very strong and powerful vision for the country and "I think he has made an incredibly strong start".

However, Sorrell was quick to add that Modi has lots of challenges in running the largest democracy with 1.2 billion people and the biggest being implementing his vision and promises.

"To move a country, a democracy, the world's fastest growing democracy, 1.2 billion people is very difficult. At the moment, India is the last BRIC (referring to the BRICS grouping) standing or the last brick in the wall. If you were to grade the BRICS, in my view, India would be the clear number one, followed by China," he said.

Likening Modi to world leaders like past British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Margaret Thatcher, who were brilliant communicators, Sorrell said he is pressed to think of any world leader, who after 15 or 18 months, has the same or better popularity rating when he or she started off with.

Meanwhile, WPP today announced the formation of Geometry Global Encompass Network, the largest experiential marketing network.

Encompass is one of the biggest experiential marketing companies in the country, while Geometry Global is the world's largest experiential marketing company.

The collaboration leverages the global and local experience, expertise, creativity and strengths of the two experiential marketing companies to offer brand experience solutions which enhance and widen consumer engagement.
