Priya, who is a popular name in the Tamil and Telugu film industry, has been signed by Excel Entertainment for a lead role in the new youth-centric film.
The actress played the role of Sridevi's niece Radha in the recently released 'English Vinglish'.
'Fukrey', to be directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
"Everyone loved Priya's performance in 'English Vinglish'. 'Fukrey' will be her first central portrayal in a youth-centric romantic film," Excel Entertainment spokesperson said in a statement here.
Set against a college backdrop, the movie is about bonding between friends and has an ensemble cast. Pulkit Samrat (of 'Bittoo Boss' fame) and Richa Chadda are already part of the film.
