A South African woman has been arrested in the city airport for allegedly carrying 3.75 kg cocaine worth Rs 4-5 crore in Indian market, Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) officials said today.
Following a tip off by the NCB, Govendra Savitri, a 47-year-old woman of Indian origin, was detained by customs officials after she landed here in an Emirates flight from Dubai yesterday.
She was arrested after the cocaine was found in two packets inside a hidden chamber of her suitcase, NCB Eastern zone officials said.

Savitri was supposed to hand over the cocaine to a Nigerian man. However, he could not be captured and a look out notice in his name has been sent to all airports and ports of the country to prevent him from leaving India, the officials said.
It has been learnt that Savitri, a resident of Durban, was lured to carry the drug with a free trip to the land of her forefathers.
