Jamia Millia has an outstanding property tax of Rs 2.5 crore while South Campus owes Rs two crore. Yesterday, North Delhi Municipal Corporation had slapped a notice asking DU's North Campus to pay Rs 76 crore as property tax.
"As per the provisions of Section 155 and 156 of Delhi Municipal Corporation Act 1957, if the payment is not done within three days of receipt of notice then necessary action will be taken.
"The amount will be recovered by way of attachment and sale of movable and immovable properties," a statement said.
Assessor and Collector of SDMC B N Singh said the civic body will be issuing notices to all big government and non government institutions to get maximum property tax.
