A new multi-level car parking facility in south Delhi's Kalkaji area with a capacity to accommodate 406 vehicles was inaugurated today.
Spread over an area of around 14,000 sqm at ground level, and two levels in basement, it has been built at a cost of Rs 38 crore, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation said.
"This facility consists of a sprinkle system to control fire, exhaust fans and ducts for fresh air," South Delhi Mayor Shyam Sharma said after dedicating the facility to the public at a function organised by the SDMC.

Sharma said this parking facility will benefit the residents and traders of Kalkaji and nearby colonies.
The mayor said he will also inaugurate three-four more such parking lots in a few days.
"The corporation while constructing it has used an advanced technique. An attractive lush green park has been developed over the parking. The residents of Kalkaji will enjoy and feel the greenery in the park. The SDMC will further develop this park to provide modern infrastructure like gazebos and an open gym," he said.
Bidhuri said the new parking lot will help overcome the problem of illegal and haphazard parking in the area.
