BJP candidate from the Gurgaon Lok Sabha seat Rao Inderjit Singh today lashed out at the Congress governments in the state and at the Centre, alleging discrimination against south Haryana in development works.
Singh, a former Union minister who quit Congress recently to contest the Lok Sabha polls on a BJP ticket, alleged that three successive Congress Chief Ministers -- Bansi Lal, Bhajan Lal and incumbent Bhupinder Singh Hooda -- had discriminated against south Haryana in regards to development.
Hooda, however, has always maintained that there has been no discrimination against any part of the state and all-round development of entire Haryana has been carried out during his regime.
Singh, a prominent Ahirwal region leader, was today addressing election rallies at Dahina and Berli villages in Kosli area of the Rohtak parliamentary constituency in support of BJP candidate Om Prakash Dhankhar.
Singh asserted that he was fighting his last political battle to secure justice and dignity for south Haryana.
Recalling how he had assisted Hooda in various matters before he became the Chief Minister, Singh said, "He (Hooda) not only deceived me, but ignored the interests of south Haryana as well."
Exuding confidence that BJP will win the upcoming polls and Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister, Singh urged the people to cast their votes in favour of the BJP nominee.
Dhankhar, who is pitted against Chief Minister Hooda's son and two-time MP from Rohtak Deepender Singh Hooda, also addressed the rallies.
