Southern Naval Command ties up with PSG college for PG

The Southern Naval Command has entered into a tie-up with coimbatore-based PSG college to enable officers to pursue research and post-graduate programmes every year at the institution.

A memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed between the two entities Monday, besides to facilitate exchange of expertise, development of training infrastructure, joint research & development projects and Transfer of technology (ToT).

Every year, four seats would be allocated for Naval personnel and there would be no limit on seats for research programmes, a statement from defence wing said.

The agreement was signed by Naval Institute of Aeronautical Training (NIAT) Director Commodore Yogesh Chandra Pandey, on behalf of the Navy, and by PSG College Principal R Rudramurthy.

 

The collaboration also includes faculty assistance in product and process modification, modernization, it said.

Chief Staff Officer (CSO), Training Rear Admiral K Swaminathan said it was indeed a red letter day and an event of paramount importance for the Southern Naval Command.

"Such cooperation in academics, training, projects and research in addition to faculty and resource sharing will go a long way in enhancing the technological edge of the Indian Navy," he said.
