The Southwest monsoon further advanced into most parts of Bihar today, triggering light to moderate rainfall at a few places in the state in the past 24 hours.
"Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of north Arabian sea, Gujarat state... remaining parts of Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar during next 48 hours," an IMD report said.
Dehri in Rohtas district recorded the day's highest maximum temperature at 42.0 degrees Celsius, followed by Patna at 35.0 degrees Celsius, Bhagalpur at 34.6 degrees Celsius, Purnea at 32.1 degrees Celsius, and Gaya at 29.4 degrees Celsius, it said.
The Met office has forecast a generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunder tomorrow in four major cities of Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea.
