Farmers have completedsowing on nearly three lakh hectares in the ongoing kharif season in Chhattisgarh, state agriculture minister Brijmohan Agrawal said today.
Sowing of crops like food grains, oilseeds and vegetables picked up in the last couple of days, thanks to spell of good rainfall across the state.
Of the three lakh hectares, sowing of food grains like paddy, barely and maize stood at around 2.50 lakh hectares, Agrawal said in a press release issued here.

The sowing target for the season is 48 lakh hectares, which include 39.60 lakh hectares for food grains, he said.
Besides, farmersare also sowing pulses and oilseeds crop at a good pace.
He said the agriculture department has adequate stock of certified seeds and fertilisers forthe season.
The state government has also set a target to distribute interest-free short-term crop loan of Rs 3,200 crore to farmers in this kharif season, which began in June.
