Soyabean oil softens on subdued demand

Soyabean oil prices eased by Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today owing to slackened demand from retailers.

Castor oil in the non-edible section, also traded lower due to reduced offtake by consuming industries.

Traders said sluggish demand from retailers against sufficient stocks mainly led to decline in soyabean oil prices.

In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils fell by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,650 and Rs 6,350 per quintal, respectively.

Among non-edibles, castor oil weakened by Rs 50 to Rs 9,750-9,850 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):
 

Oilseeds: Mustardseed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnutseed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 930-1,070.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 8,850, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,600-1,650, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 7,400, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,250-1,300, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,300-1,400, sesame mill delivery Rs 8,000, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,650, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,350, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,300, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,700, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,700, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,600 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,250-2,275.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,500, Castor Rs 9,750-9,850, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
