Soyameal exports fell by 85 per cent to 29,690 tonnes during last month due to poor supply of soyabean, an industry body said today.
"The export of soyabean meal during October 2014 was just 29,690 tonnes as compared to 1,94,486 tonnes in the same period of previous year," Indore-based Soyabean Processors' Association (SOPA) said in a statement.
Iran was the largest importer of Indian soyameal at 25,000 tonnes. Indonesia, Myanmar, Oman and Sri Lanka were the other importing countries.

"Soyabean meal exports have declined sharply from December 2013 onwards due to poor supply of soyabean," it added.
In 2013-14 marketing year (October-September), India's soyameal exports declined to 2.06 million tonnes as against 3.47 million tonnes in the previous year.
