Soybean futures advance on global cues

Soybean prices recorded further rise of Rs 18 in its prices to quote at Rs 2,914 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators were busy in raising positions amid positive overseas cues.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, soybean for delivery in December edged up by Rs 18 or 0.62 percent to Rs 2,914 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 1,68,090 lots.

In line with overall trends, soybean for delivery this month was trading higher by Rs 16 or 0.56 per cent to Rs 2,863 per quintal, showing an open interest of 30,960 lots.

Marketmen said raising of holdings by participants coupled with firm positive cues, mainly gave push to rising soybean prices in futures trade here.
